Annotations

Type your content hereOne of the features currently in early access is the ability for Elvin Copilot to generate interactive tours for end-users on the fly. When a user asks a question in the Elvin Copilot Widget, the system can determine whether to create a dynamic guide or tour for that specific user query. To enable this, client administrators must annotate their application, either partially or fully, focusing on the most critical user paths. Annotation is performed via the Product Fruits Admin section: Elvin Copilot β†’ Teach β†’ Annotations. Administrators need to install a Chrome Extension to perform these annotations.

Annotation Creation Process

To annotate the application, administrators should follow these steps:

  1. Install the Chrome annotation extension and navigate to Elvin Copilot β†’ Teach β†’ Annotations.
  2. Open the annotation extension and provide the company/product website to give Elvin Copilot context for generating more accurate descriptions and annotations.
  3. Use the extension to annotate the application, either entirely, partially, or focusing on specific flows intended for dynamic guide generation.
  4. Click on elements in the application; the annotation extension will automatically generate a title and description for each element. Administrators can edit these as needed. This allows rapid sharing of application knowledge with Elvin Copilot.
  5. Organize annotations in a tree structure representing the application. Start from the main menu, then go deeper into subpages and elements. This hierarchy helps Elvin Copilot understand relationships between elements for guide generation.
  6. Once complete, administrators can publish the annotated sections. Elvin Copilot will then use these annotations to provide answers and generate dynamic guides.
  7. Annotations can be edited, unpublished, or deleted as needed.
  8. The annotation extension provides tools for selecting elements individually, selecting multiple elements by dragging, and AI-generated hints indicating selectable elements.

Even without annotations, Elvin Copilot can answer end-user questions if at least one knowledge source is connected. However, dynamic guide generation is not possible without annotations.
